A Monday Post- What's On my Desk....

Hello, Everyone,

So much going on. Been up to visit my sister, Alison, and we created some stunning cards at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff.
These are the samples. My look just as good or better. I loved everything about this type of card. We made the background with stencils and Alison feel in love with them. She had had limited practice with them before and mostly with using pastes or sprays with the stencils. The coloring here was done with Distress Inks and the Tim Holtz new round ink blending tool.
The coloring on the flowers is done with Copic markers. and blended on the edges. The stamp set is a Penny Black set called "Blooming Tags."

I plan to make some sets of these to give as gifts this year. Please forgive the photography. The pictures came out rather yellow altho they are matted on white cardstock.
What's on my desk today? Well, I need to catch up on some journaling in both my books and make a list of all the online classes that I am signed up for to keep track of them. There are several I haven't finished up and I want to do that before I start on any more.

Hope to be back on Wednesday or Friday with a look at what I have done lately in my Documented Journal. Thanks for stopping by.

Westbound train....

No photos today. I'm on the Amtrak heading up to my sister's home. We plan to do lots of visiting, go out to lunch or dinner, see a softball game, take 3 card making classes, go shopping.

I'll be home next Friday. We'll chat then. Thanks for stopping by.

On a Roll....

Hi, All,

Here is the June calendar for the Draw Your Awesome Year class I'm taking with Joanne Sharpe-
This was done with Pan Pastels and a little watercolor pencil on watercolor paper. It is finished.

Here is the July calendar page. Used watercolor paints in my journal book.
Joanne's prompt was to draw fresh fruit to celebrate this patriotic month.

Had a little help from Lucy with the photography.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. Be back soon.

So, I have posted something. There is a story to tell about all of this, but it will have to wait for another day. I will try harder to post more.

A small posting vacation...

Hi, Everyone,

After a small posting vacation after the Blogging A toZ Challenge, I am back with some work I did on my May calendar for the Joanne Sharpe Draw Your Awesome Year workshop. By the end of the month all my blooms will be filled in with snippets of  what happened that day.

These are pansies hand drawn, inked with a black Copic multiliner and colored with Prismacolored pencils and Gamsol. Several days worth of work but I am happy with the results.

BTW, I finished the A to Z Challenge again this year. If you are here for my art, please step back in time to see April's 30 days of kitties that have lived with us over the years and some of my poems.

Thanks for stopping by, see you next time.

Blogging from A to Z April Challenge 2014 - Letter Z

Hello, Old Friends and New and Welcome to

April
and my 3rd year of  blogging in the Challenge.

I love cats. I can't remember a time when there weren't cats in my life. Sometimes one or two, most times lots more. My husband, Gary, and I seem to be magnets for strays. Consequently, I have many photographs of cats and kittens that resided outside our houses and of those who, by the luck of the draw or paw, made it into the inner sanctum of feline luxury, our home. I have also written poems and stories about cats that I have shared with you throughout the challenge. And, I enjoyed visiting your blogs to see what interests you.

Z is for Zikes, it's time to tie things up...

 Make an exit....

 Put this to bed...

Mom, Mom, are you really done? It's been a long month. I could use a little petting, some attention, a lap...

And so, another April has flown by. I certainly hope you enjoyed my topic. I normally post my artwork, greeting cards and poetry here; you might want to come back in a few days to see what I've been doing behind the scenes.
Your blogs were entertaining, I am amazed at all the great subjects that were chosen. Congratulations to all of us for surviving another challenge and may the urge to blog live on in us all year long.

We will now return to our irregularly scheduled programming.
