Blogging from A to Z April Challenge 2014 - Letter X

Hello, Old Friends and New and Welcome to

April
and my 3rd year of  blogging in the Challenge.

I love cats. I can't remember a time when there weren't cats in my life. Sometimes one or two, most times lots more. My husband, Gary, and I seem to be magnets for strays. Consequently, I have many photographs of cats and kittens that resided outside our houses and of those who, by the luck of the draw or paw, made it into the inner sanctum of feline luxury, our home. I have also written poems and stories about cats that I will share for the next 2 blog days with you. I am also looking forward to visiting your blogs to see what interests you.

X is for Xtra-Large...

  Gully Cat

What can you do
When you are caught in the trap
Of having a 600 pound
Cat on your lap.

It started off cute
She was grabbing my toes.
How she got up here
Heaven only knows.

First she played with my pencil
Chewed holes in the paper,
Splashed in my coffee
Had a wild old caper.

She ran herself ragged
Chasing after my pen,
Now she's asleep
Like a bear in her den.

I don't think I can take it
For very much longer,
My knees have the shakes
I'm not getting stronger.

She came up here a mere 6 oz,
But that was only a disguise.
She's really a 600 pound gully cat,
Napping on my thighs.

.    Only 2 more days.

Thank you for stopping in and I hope you enjoy my pampered cats.

I wish my cat would sleep on my lap or my shoulder! The closest we can get him to do that is to sit right next to us on a little blanket. Love these sweet kitty pictures!

I posted an A to Z wrap-up post. I also have an End of Challenge book giveaway going on for either contemporary romance or contemporary YA.
